Past Life Regression (PLR) is interesting because some believe our spirit leaves our bodies at our death and returns to a different life in the future. Some do not even believe that we begin as spirit and then have a human experience. However no matter what someone believes about this subject, many are curious to explore the possibilities.

When I was in hypnotherapy school, this was a subject we all had to learn. We had to be able to lead someone through a PLR. It was a long weekend offsite to accommodate all the students studying for their PLR certification. There were about 30 of us. Five students had absolutely NO belief in past lives at all because of their religious upbringing, but they knew they had to learn how to take a client into the past if they requested that experience. By the end of that weekend, all 5 had to admit there was room for the possibility of past lives simply because they could not explain what they had personally experienced!

Why would someone want to explore their past lives? There are many reasons. Frequently, a person is curious about a relationship they are in that they are having challenges with. They want to know if they had a past life with the person and what they still need to accomplish with them. Some may want to know about a behavior they have in this life and whether it is explained by a past life. Was there something they were to have learned in the other lifetime but didn’t, and they want to learn what the lesson was and get it right this time.

It’s fascinating, how some who are just curious about the possibility and want to be regressed are totally amazed by the experience when I bring them back to current time. It’s often expressed that at first, they thought they were just making up a story. But then suddenly something very emotional happens and they are in tears because the feelings are so real, and they didn’t know what was coming before it came into the picture.

Example, a woman was searching for a reason why she and the gentleman she was seeing had such an intense bond because she was 51 and he was only 32. She was not quite sure if she believed in past lives, but was willing to try. I regressed her and she went into a Native American life and she told me that her husband was not in the scene at that moment. She felt he had gone to hunt for food. Then she sees a young native boy walking towards her, carrying her husband’s moccasins. She burst into tears and remembered her husband had been killed by a bear and she was suddenly filled with such sadness and loss. She realized the Native American husband then was the man she was involved with in this lifetime. In this regression, there were actually 3 lifetimes she had with this man, in all of them he died before her.

Hence the reason for their unexplained intense relationship that made no sense to her. Through PLR she understood why this young man fell deeply in love with her on first site in this life! She said, as many have, that she at first thought she was making up the story until the emotions hit her from each of the 3 lifetimes. She also noted that in this lifetime her entire home was in Native American décor.

For those who are positive they will never believe in the past life scenario, let me just say this about a regression, sometimes the inner mind won’t show you images because it doesn’t want you to relive it if it was unpleasant, and that is just fine. It is protecting you. But it may give you other information that will be helpful to you in your current situation no matter what. You will still benefit from the experience.

If you are ever interested in learning about PLR, I suggest “MANY LIVES MANY MASTERS”, by Dr. Brian Weiss. Dr. Weiss, a psychiatrist, had a young client who kept regressing into past lives. Dr. Weiss was not one to believe in them, but he could not explain how this very young woman could be aware and have the knowledge of the things she talked about in these lives. He researched the people, places, and things she talked about in their sessions, even speaking in different languages! He would find these places and times in history and could validate her experiences that she shared while in trance. Dr. Weiss was afraid to share these amazing sessions with other doctors for fear of what they might say about him. He finally shared with a close colleague, who to his complete surprise, was having similar sessions with HIS patients! Dr. Weiss is famous for his findings with trance work and past life regression work. Fascinating read for sure!

Sometimes when I am regressing a client to find the root cause of something they are having a challenge with, they think they already may have an idea of why, but I ask them in the trance to not specifically look for an event that they think is the cause. I tell them to just go on the feeling they have physically. It is surprising how they may end up in a place that is not in this lifetime, and in a past life time, may even be a different gender. They can give me vivid details of where they are and what is happening. I am always amazed, and they ultimately find the answers they needed. While in trance, we heal the psychological and emotional wounds that were caused in that life, disconnect from the past wounds and return to now. Then I send them into the future to an undetermined time to see if they still have the same limiting feelings that they wanted to clear. They are always better.

Maybe you might want to experience a regression, just to see where your inner mind takes you, on an enlightening journey to help you with situations in your current life for a healing through time and space!

My saying is, “Change your life by changing your mind!” Maybe I could even say, “Change your PAST life by changing your mind!” I tell you, it’s worth the trip!
